Obesity is one of the biggest factors that threat our health. As it becomes a big issue among people in society, even there is a Fitness Reality TV show, The Biggest Loser which I think is really good because there are lots of performers who succeed in losing a huge amount of weight and people follow their example. I've watched this programme and thought everyone in bad health could make it as long as they have strong confident. However, it's not that easy. Today, we are exposed to the menace of obesity. The rate of the obesity is hugely increasing, especailly for the children, according to the research in UK. What do you think is the main problem that cause obesity? What trements are there?
As we live in a busy life, people look for fast food very often and it causes many of them to be overweight. Many believe that this happens because we eat them a lot. It is considering to ban fast food ads but can we blame all the fast food for this obesity? I don't think the fast food is the only cause. It's our choices. It could depend on people control themselves. Banning fast food ads won't prevent obestiy. Self-control! We can enjoy it without being overweight.
Furthermore, it is our lifestyle which is Sedentary lifestyle meaning that we have little or no exercise. Obesity in children is linked to numerous health complications and tends to indicate the chile will be obese as an adult. Unhealthy diet and not doing enough exercise are the main factors causing obesity in children. Children are not well aware that how serious and dangerous eating too much is. Even if they did, it would still be a problem because children have less power of self-control than adults. Therefore, I think their parents should help them control themselves. Also, at school, lots of education about obesity in children must be provided. While I was looking for an article I found something interesting and which I never thought of. It's 'Obese blamed for the world's ills'.
New Zealand is no exception. We can see heaps of fast-food stores around the city where people are congested the most. The fast-food stores are full of people all the time. What should be done about New Zeland's obesity problem? Many chronic disease incluing heart disease, hypertension and stroke, gallstones and some cancers are arised from obesity. It all sounds like it's got nothing to do with us at all but unfortunetely it all happens as long as people don't take care of themselves.

I think eating too much is the main reason of causing obesity eh, New Zealand also facing obesity problem as well, there are too many junk food and fast food in this country,I think the best way to solve this problem is get reduce of the fast food shops and do more sports, hey david we are in the same group of movie fanfit, so please leave a comment on my blog, thanks :) http://newzealandshouldlegalisemarijuana.blogspot.com/
Hi David,
I totally agree with your opinion about self control when it comes to tackling the epidemic of obesity. Some people just eat not that they are hungry but purely out of boredom!!! Why can't they refrain themselves from food and get up & do some exercise? Obesity has become quite a serious social problem here in NZ & it's encouraging to see that our government is taking a proactive role in promoting a healthy & active lifestyle for all New Zealanders e.g. the "Push Play" campaign.
I watch "The Biggest Loser" on tv too & it sets a very positive example for people who are obese. All they need is exercising and determination, then everyone can be "The Biggest Loser"!!!
Looking forward to reading more of your blog ^_^

Hey David!
Wow Great Job David, great tOpic to talk about too.
Just wanted to let know that i come from a community where kids at the age of 10 being overweight dont get to enjoy run around with other kids in the block, because that fact their obese and some soon will face the reality being obese before reaching their teens. Its sad watching people eat them self up Every day, especailly growing up in a polynesian community. I have to agree with Albert, The Biggest Loser should be seen as a positive motivation for us all. I herd in a radio anouncement that New Zealand is the 2nd most obese country in the world. The First is USA, not suprising at all. The only way to solve of obesity is decrease the amount of fast food places and start building more subways rather then BUILDING burger king or MCD and KFC.
'BUILD A HEALTHY FUTURE'
I cant to read more of your Blog.!
Cheers
Erica
Hi guys. I didn't expect that New Zealand was facing that serious obesity problem.. It seems like everyone here has the same opinion which is reducing the fast foods places. Well, that's a good point but not the best one I think. It must not be built anymore and that's for sure. On the other hand, there might be people who need and want it. Fast food is not totally to blame.
we need to persuade people to go to gyms and do more exercise and lots of activities. Education to the children, letting them know too much eating is good-for-nothing, also would be a good way. What else do you think is there?
Thank you for your opinion guys :)
